Previously located in the CAVE on the NCCC Main Campus, the Chanute Workforce Center has moved to a new location! Katie Givens, the Assistant Executive Director, stated that “KANSASWORKS is excited to co-locate at the NCCC Mitchell Career and Technical Center.”  Staff started the move into their new offices at 4101 S. Ross Lane, Chanute KS last week and are now able to provide in person services. “We hope to expand our partnership opportunities and services to the community at the new center.” Givens added.

The Mitchell Career and Technical Center celebrated their Grand Opening on Friday, September 23, 2022 which included a ribbon cutting and a tour of the facility. The new building houses state-of-the-art labs for several technical programs including Aerostructures, Industrial Maintenance, Construction, and Welding, with more programs coming in the Fall of 2023. Neosho County Community College President, Dr. Brian Inbody, believes that having KANSASWORKS and these technical programs in one location “will create a hub for careers and workforce creation for the region.”
