2025 Pittsburg KEYS Summit - Empowering Future Business Leaders
The Pittsburg KEYS Summit on September 11, 2025 brought together 120 young adults from across the region for a day dedicated to career exploration, entrepreneurship, and professional growth.
The morning session featured Roy Moye III, Founder and CEO of STEMusic, who shared his entrepreneurial journey and offered an engaging demonstration of a new song. His presentation also marked the official start of his national tour, launched at the Summit.
Participants also heard from Dr. Jane Talkington of Pittsburg State University’s Kelce College of Business, who provided valuable insights into protecting intellectual property and ideas—an important consideration for aspiring innovators and business owners.
Following the morning sessions, attendees engaged in the Career Expo, which featured 15 local colleges and businesses. This provided students the opportunity to learn more about educational pathways, career opportunities, and to connect directly with community partners. During this time, students, volunteers, vendors, and staff were also able to enjoy a delicious catered lunch provided by Pittsburg High School’s Culinary Program, sponsored by Maronne’s Inc.
The afternoon concluded with a panel discussion featuring members of the Pittsburg Area Young Professionals Group (Sylvia Stapleton, Dr. Kayla Riggs, Matthew Blunt, & Dale Clark) along with a PSU student entrepreneur who founded and currently serves as President of the Entrepreneurs Society (Justin Miles). The panelists’ experiences and perspectives offered meaningful discussion and practical advice that resonated with participants.
To close the day, one student was awarded a $500 scholarship to support their continuing education at Pittsburg State University. The Summit highlighted the strong collaboration between education, business, and community partners in preparing young adults for future success.
