Flint Hills Community Health center has partnered with Southeast KANSASWORKS to utilize the Kansas Registered Apprenticeship Program to sign the first Spanish Translator apprentice in the entire State of Kansas. Through this program, Flint Hills Community Health Center will receive up to a $3,000 reimbursement for related technical training in order to train a new Medical Spanish Translator. “We are excited about this opportunity” Sheri Knight, HR Director “It will allow us to better serve our community and give our employees the skills needed to effectively communicate with patients.”

The Kansas Registered Apprenticeship Program balances a unique partnership between job seekers and employers. The program incorporates classroom studies while maintaining full-time employment. The customizable program improves the skills and competencies of apprentices, in turn, leading to their higher productivity rate.

There are currently over 1,300 different occupations that qualify for Registered Apprenticeship.
